I saw something somewhere that someone had done something thought to take hundreds of hours in only 2-8-12-30 hours. According to this No Man’s Sky Reddit thread someone claimed they reached the center of the universe in 8 hours. I guess it’s a game you can devote your time to exploring each and every single planet and check out the procedurally (<– not even a word according to my spell checker…) generated environments but.. why?
According to the player, the location of the center is very clear and is heavily pushed on you to get to. He also stated that he didn’t use exploits, or cheats, or anything that would give him any sort of advantage over the game. He simply followed the game and made smart decisions that any other player would make. Finding rare (apparently found everywhere though) loot and then selling it to get fuel or whatever he needed to boost his travel speed or whatever (I’m a professional writer, I promise…). “The ships are basically 100% purely cosmetic” meaning they are all capable of the same things. He did not spoil what he found in the center saying “Someone will eventually spoil it”. There was also a claim that the game crashed regularly on the Playstation 4 and that saving often is highly recommended.
Too bad, I really wanted the game to deliver on everything it promised, but I knew at the bottom of my blackened and jaded heart that the promises made was classic over-hype. No Man’s Sky is old news now. It’s done. They didn’t deliver soon enough especially now that there are multiple games that have already implemented the same features *ahem* Eve, Elite Dangerous, Evochron Legacy, Star Citizen and many more. Here is a list of 10 Games similar to No Man’s Sky.
